NOTICE OF RACE
- RULES:
The regatta will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in the The Racing
Rules of Sailing (RRS 2001-2004), including the prescriptions of US
Sailing, and the sailing instructions.
a.
RRS 29.3 will be changed to eliminate the one minute requirement on a
general recall
b.
RRS 33 will be changed to eliminate the requirement to display the
compass course or length when course is changed
c.
RRS 61.1.a will be changed to require a protesting boat to inform and be
acknowledged by the RC when protesting at the conclusion of the race protested.
d.
RRS 44.1 will be changed to DSQ any boat entering the out of bounds areas
without ability to exonerate herself.
- ENTRY:
To be eligible to race, entries must be filed with the Race Committee by
completing the entry form, sending it, together with the required fee and
postmarked by September 7th, 2005. Late entries will be accepted
with form and a $5 late fee by 1000 September 10th, 2005 at the
check-in table. Boats racing in PHRF handicap fleet must have an ECSC PHRF
Handicap Form on file with ECSC Racing (available at registration).
- FLEETS:
a.
Two handicap fleets of spinnaker and non-spinnaker boats competing
together with a 12s differential given to spinnaker boats.
b.
One Portsmouth fleet for boats that do not have five (5) boats
pre-registered.
c.
One Design Classes (except multi-hulls) with Five (5) or more boats
pre-registered shall be scored separately but may be combined with another
start.
- FEES:
Each entry includes ONE REGATTA SHIRT and ONE SATURDAY DINNER. Required fees:

- RACES:
Every attempt will be made to complete no fewer than three (3) and no more
than six (6) races. Up to four (4) races may be conducted on Saturday,
September 10th, 2005.
- SAILING INSTRUCTIONS:
Will be available after 1900 Friday, September 9h, 2005 at Eagle
Creek Sailing Club or on-line @
www.ecsail.org after September 9th, 2005 (go to 2005 Racing
Information).
- COURSES:
Eagle Creek Reservoir lies generally North to South. With either Northerly or
Southerly winds, it is possible to have a Windward/Leeward Course of
reasonable size. Easterly or Westerly winds will dictate a windward start
with point-to-point racing and a windward finish to follow.
- SCORING:
Scoring shall be by the Low Point Scoring System of Appendix A of RRS. There
will be no throw-outs.
- PRIZES:
Prizes will be awarded as follows: 1 boat in fleet - None, Congratulations; 2
or 3 boats in fleet - First Place; 4 or 5 boats - First and Second Place; 6 or
more boats - First, Second and Third Place.
