We’ve taught many sailors who often start in small boats, then work their way up to larger ones. Even when you own a large sailboat, it is important to think of the vessel as a big dinghy.

This classroom and on the water and teaches basic sailing skills on small boats (14’ Lasers and 13’ Flying Juniors).

  • Sailor’s talk (basic definitions and technical words)
  • Marlinspike (knots & lines)
  • Right-of-way (rules of the road)
  • Reading the wind and waves
  • Sail trim and draft control
  • Safety versus self protection
  • Sail care
  • Rigging
  • On the water around the buoys
  • Righting the boat after a capsize

And, for you harder core sailors who want to get wet, we teach Laser sailing after 12:00 noon with our advanced class. Lots of line time with windward and downwind practice.

We will supply the boat and sails...
    Class ends around 17:00 hrs.
