    Harbormaster February 2022

There are new updates to the General Rules when it comes to membership stickers.  Boats that do not have up-to-date stickers by December 1st will be fined the equivalent of an extra winter storage fee. Each boat must display a current membership sticker on the port bow. Each trailer also needs to display a current membership sticker on or near its tongue.

Membership stickers must be on the boat and trailer no later than June 1, or within 30 days of acceptance of new membership. Failure to properly display a current membership sticker by December 1 shall result in a fine equivalent to the amount of current year‘s winner storage fee being automatically added to the members annual membership renewal statement.

Let’s talk double-parked boats. Right now this is not a problem but when the weather gets warmer in a month then it’s a different story. If you are parked in front of someone – and don’t launch early – then don’t be surprised if your boat is not where you left it.

    Harbormaster – April – 2019

Spring is here and I’m seeing more people at the club working on their boats every day. Kai and I have been busy working on the new Gin pole and boat parking.

Boat slip assignments are complete and they will be posted the on the race shed board by 3/28/19. Boats in the parking lot that are double parked please remember that the person behind you may want to get out before you.

Please have your boats clear of the car park areas by 4/28. The work lot next to the harbormaster shed also needs to be cleared by 4/28. if you are currently working on your boat in the work lot and need it there longer, please contact me. If you do not remove your boat by this date it will be moved for you and you may not like where I put it.

There are several boats on the beach by the junior shed. These boats need to be moved by 4/24 for junior regatta. If they are not moved by that date, I will have to move your boat you may not like where I put it.

Water is on at the power sprayer as of 3/28. When launching and retrieving your boat please keep safety first and work with the buddy system. This will make for a safer boating season.

If you would like to earn some work credits please contact me. I have plenty of projects (large and small) that need to be done.

    Harbormaster – November 2018

November is here and cold weather is upon us.  Some people are battening down the hatches to ride out the winter and other people are looking for that last day of Nirvana on the lake.  I’ve heard from a lot of you about parking this year and I know it’s already a pretty full sailing club. This is something that we will be addressing for next winter. Next year we will have both assigned parking for summer dry sailors and winter storage. Parking, like the docks will be assigned based on seniority. We also have the paperwork from years ago on assigned parking so if you put your boat in the same spot year after year you will not be losing that spot. Last but not least, as always I still have plenty of jobs (both large and small) around the club that need to be done.Remember to contact me if you need or want to get work credit hours.

    Harbormaster – October 2018

Fall is here and sailing season is coming to a close. Lets all keep safety in mind when pulling our boats and always try and work with the buddy system.  Winter parking starts October 14 at 3 PM after the Hornback regatta is done.  At this time the beach the seawall and car corrals are open for boat storage. Please remember to park your boat trailer close to the boats next to you.  Any more than 3 feet between boats is a waste of precious lot space. Remember this is the time of the year that  the water level drops quite quickly. If you have not checked on your boat in a few weeks you may want to go check on it as it could be sitting in the mud. Work credits are available for some much needed jobs. Please contact me for information.
