Publicity – Grounds Committee Holiday 2018

    Hello sailors!

This is the first Tell Tales article from Nan Schulze, your grounds committee chair for 2019. In 2018 the grounds committee accomplished a lot of great projects that made a significant impact on our club. Improvements were made to all the shelters including new fans, new lighting, and a new floor in the lower shelter. New security lighting was installed in the parking lots, so you can now see our club from Dandy Trail.

As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of our club, we are also looking toward the next 50 years and have some exciting infrastructure improvements in the works, hopefully to be finished in 2019. We’re in the process of working with the parks department and getting quotes for making major repairs to the seawall and boat ramp. In addition we’re getting quotes for replacing the mast hoist. Our final big endeavor is to hire a maintenance and grounds person to be on site at the club during our sailing season.
We will be working with the Harbormaster on making improvements to boat parking and the parking lots. We will also be creating an” adopt a flower bed “program that will allow work credits for members who would like to help keep the club beautiful.
These are very ambitious goals, but I’m confident that accomplishing them  will  benefit  all of our members  and keep the Eagle Creek Sailing Club the very best that it can be!
Happy holidays to everyone and I’m looking forward to a great 2019.
